The Equinox arrived as a 2005 model with a 3.4-liter pushrod V6 rated at 185 hp, front-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive optional. The second generation, for 2010, made a 2.4-liter four with 182 hp standard and offered a 3.0-liter V6 with 264 hp, with the V6 no longer standard. For 2025 the Equinox was redesigned, which Autoblog counts as the fourth generation, with the 1.5-liter turbo four rated at 175 hp carried over, a CVT on front-drive cars and an eight-speed automatic on all-wheel drive.
The Equinox is a compact crossover introduced for 2005, one of Chevrolet's best-selling utility vehicles. Later generations moved to smaller turbocharged engines and added an all-electric version.
