STORY
The Impala began for 1958 as the top trim of the Bel Air line and became a separate model for 1959. The Super Sport followed in 1961 with a 409 V8 option. Chevrolet dropped the name in 1985 and again in 1996, then revived it for 2000 as the eighth generation. The tenth and final generation was introduced for the 2014 model year, and the last Impala was built in 2020, after the name had been used on and off since the late 1950s.
