STORY
The Lumina APV was Chevrolet's front-drive minivan for the 1990 through 1996 model years, built at North Tarrytown, New York, beside the Pontiac Trans Sport and Oldsmobile Silhouette. APV stood for All Purpose Vehicle. The U-body had a galvanized steel spaceframe under composite plastic panels and a long, steeply sloped nose. The only engine at launch was a 3.1-liter V6 with 120 hp and a three-speed automatic, and a 3.8-liter V6 was added as an option in 1992. Chevrolet dropped the APV suffix for 1994, and the Venture replaced the van in 1997.
