STORY

The Chevrolet Lumina was GM's front-drive midsize car on the W platform for the 1990 through 2001 model years, built in Oshawa, Ontario, and sold in North America. The first sedans appeared in 1989, and the Z34 coupe with the twin-cam 3.4-liter V6, rated at 210 hp with the five-speed manual, arrived during 1991. For 1995 the Lumina was redesigned as a sedan only and the coupe came back as the Monte Carlo. The LTZ sport sedan joined in 1997, and the 3.8-liter V6 replaced the 3.4 for 1998. The Impala replaced it in the line-up from 2000, though the Lumina continued until 2001, when cars went only to fleet buyers.
