STORY

This record covers two unrelated Chevrolet cars of different eras that share the Monza name. The North American H-body Monza was a Vega-derived hatchback introduced as a 1975 model, four inches longer than the Vega and first planned around a GM Wankel rotary that was scrapped. The Monza 2+2 won Motor Trend Car of the Year for 1975, and the car was dropped after 1980, with the Cavalier arriving for 1982. A Chinese compact sedan of the same name, a different car altogether, went on sale from SAIC-GM on 21 March 2019.
