STORY
The Sail is a small car built in China by Shanghai GM, the General Motors joint venture with SAIC. The New Sail sedan, on sale from 2010, was developed together with the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center in Shanghai and was meant from the start to be exported to other emerging markets. By 2013 Chevrolet was describing Sail shipments abroad, and a 2017 survey of Chevrolet cars sold outside the United States said it was exported widely across Asia and South America.
