STORY

The Spark began in 1998 as the Matiz, and its US form was built on the Beat concept, shown at New York in 2007 and chosen by show-goers and online fans over two others. Chevrolet announced on October 12, 2011 that a 2013 Spark would join the US and Canadian lineup, a five-door with a 1.2-liter four announced at 83 hp, 14 inches shorter than the Sonic. Reports in February 2022 said the 2022 model would be built at Changwon, Korea until August and that no successor was planned for the small-car segment.
