The Tracker was a General Motors and Suzuki product built at the CAMI plant in Ingersoll, Ontario, with production beginning in April 1989 and running to 2004. It was sold with Suzuki Sidekick, Escudo and Vitara siblings under several badges, including Chevrolet, GMC and Pontiac Sunrunner. In 1995 CAMI reached 183,000 units, mostly Geo Metro and Tracker, and the plant was later retooled for new Tracker and Sidekick versions. For 2001 the four-door Tracker in LT or ZR2 trim came with a 2.5-liter DOHC V6.
The Tracker was a compact SUV sold in the 1990s and 2000s, based on Suzuki designs, and later used as a separate small crossover name in some markets. Early versions were offered in soft-top and hardtop forms.
