STORY

The Traverse began as the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse, unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2008 as a three-row crossover with a 3.6-liter V6 and a six-speed automatic. It was nearly identical to the Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia and shared much with the Buick Enclave. For 2018 it was fully redesigned: more room in the second and third rows, and a nine-speed automatic behind the V6. The third generation arrived for 2024 with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four rated at 328 horsepower in place of the V6.
