STORY
For the 1953 model year Chevrolet reorganized its range into One-Fifty, Two-Ten and Bel Air, with the One-Fifty as the entry level and the Two-Ten in the middle. That year the 235 cu in Blue Flame six was rated at 115 hp with Powerglide. In 1955 each passenger car could be had with the six or the new 265 cu in V8, which sources date to late 1954 or the 1955 model year, rated at 162 hp with a two-barrel carburetor. The Handyman wagon came in both lines, while the Two-Ten had the Delray club coupe from 1954 and the Beauville wagon from 1956. For 1957 a 283 cu in V8 arrived with optional mechanical fuel injection, rated at 250 or 283 hp. Ratings are SAE gross, as American figures were before 1972.
