Prowler

1997 – 2002

The Chrysler Prowler was a retro hot-rod roadster produced from 1997 to 2002, originally launched under the Plymouth brand before moving to Chrysler. Its open-wheel front end, aluminum construction, and V6 engine made it a factory-built version of the classic American hot rod.

The Story

Why the Prowler matters

The Chrysler Prowler (initially a Plymouth) was a factory hot rod launched in 1997, styled after a 1930s open-wheel roadster with exposed front suspension. Built largely of aluminum, it used a 3.5-liter V6 paired with a rear transaxle and was offered only as a two-seat convertible. It became a Chrysler-badged model after Plymouth was shut down and remained a low-volume image car until production ended in 2002.
