The Viper was Dodge's V10 sports car that, in Europe, was sold under the Chrysler badge for its first two generations. Launched in 1992, the first generation paired a large 8.0-liter V10 with a minimalist, roofless roadster body and few electronic aids, making it a raw driver's car. It quickly became a well-known American performance car, with coupe variants and a successful GT racing program, before changing over later generations.
The Viper was a high-performance V10 sports car most closely linked with Dodge. In Europe the first two generations were sold as the Chrysler Viper. Its large 8.0-liter V10, later enlarged, minimal driver aids, and aggressive styling made it a raw American supercar.
