STORY
The CX succeeded the DS in 1974 as Citroën's flagship and won the 1975 European Car of the Year. It had aerodynamic styling by Robert Opron, hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension and DIRAVI speed-sensitive power steering. Available as a saloon and a long Break estate, it kept up Citroën's avant-garde reputation through the 1970s and 1980s, including turbocharged GTi Turbo versions. Production ended in 1991, after the XM had taken over as flagship.
