STORY

The Dyane arrived in 1967 as a more modern, better-equipped derivative of the 2CV. It used the same air-cooled flat-twin platform but added a hatchback tailgate and restyled bodywork. It was meant partly to counter the Renault 4, and it came with 425cc, 435cc and later 602cc engines. About 1.4 million were built before production ended in 1983. The 2CV outlived it.
