STORY

The Saxo was a supermini launched in 1996. It was closely related to the Peugeot 106 and built on a shared PSA platform to replace the AX. Light and cheap to run, it became very popular with young drivers, especially the sporty VTR and VTS hot hatches with 1.6-litre engines. Production ended in 2003 when the C2 and C3 took over.
