STORY

The Xsara was a compact family car launched in 1997 to replace the ZX, sharing its platform with the Peugeot 306 and offered as hatchback, coupé and estate. A 2000 facelift updated its styling and equipment, and sporting VTS versions provided a hot-hatch option. It became known worldwide as the basis for the Xsara WRC, with which Sébastien Loeb and Citroën dominated the World Rally Championship, before the C4 replaced it.
