The current Leon (type KL) arrived in 2020 as Cupra's performance version of the fourth-generation Seat Leon, offered as a five-door hatch and a Sportstourer estate. It ranges from 245 PS 2.0 TSI models to the eHybrid plug-in hybrid and the VZ top versions. The front-drive hatch tops out near 300 PS, and the 310 PS Sportstourer VZ adds 4Drive all-wheel drive. It is built on the MQB Evo platform and shares its underpinnings with the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Audi S3.
The Cupra Leon is the performance top model of the Leon family, offered as a five-door hatchback and a Sportstourer estate. It has a 2.0 TSI turbocharged four-cylinder with up to around 310 PS, and eHybrid plug-in hybrid versions are also available. Hatchbacks are front-wheel drive as standard, and all-wheel drive is offered on higher-output estates. All versions use a DSG gearbox. It is the direct descendant of the original Cupra-badged SEAT hot hatches and carries the brand's motorsport heritage.
