The Matiz is a city car that appeared in 1998. Giorgetto Giugiaro styled it, based on his rejected proposal for the Fiat Cinquecento. The first generation (M100) ran from 1998 to 2000 and was followed by the M150 from 2000 to 2005. It had a 0.8-litre three-cylinder engine, later also a 1.0. The Matiz is the ancestor of the Chevrolet Spark.
