The Z9 is the sedan in Denza's Z9 performance family, launched in China in 2024 alongside the Z9 GT estate. It is Denza's flagship performance-luxury sedan, offered as a plug-in hybrid Z9 and as a pure-electric Z9 EV. It uses BYD's e3 three-motor system with independent rear motors, which allows rear-wheel steering effects, tank turns and the widely publicised ability to keep driving stably after a rear tyre blowout. DiSus-A air suspension marks its place at the top of the brand.
The Denza Z9 is a full-size premium sedan and the notchback member of Denza's Z9 performance family, launched in 2024. It is offered as a pure-electric (BEV) model on BYD's e-platform 3.0 Evo and as a fifth-generation DM plug-in hybrid, which pairs a turbocharged engine with electric motors. A triple-motor layout gives high combined output and rear-wheel steering, which allows crab-walk maneuvering at low speed. It marks Denza's move into the executive performance segment. It sits at the premium end of the range against established luxury sedans and uses BYD's Blade battery and DiSus chassis technology.
