STORY

The Dodge Challenger debuted for 1970 as an E-body pony car offering everything from economy sixes to the fearsome 426 Hemi, becoming an icon of the muscle-car era. After a long hiatus, Dodge revived the nameplate in 2008 on the LC/LX platform with retro styling, and it ran through 2023 with Hemi V8s topping out in the supercharged Hellcat and the 1,025-hp Demon 170. The modern Challenger became the last of the classic big-V8 muscle coupes before electrification.
