Dodge sold Mitsubishi-built cars as the Colt from the 1971 model year, and the first ones were rear-drive Galant-based coupes, sedans and wagons. For 1979 the Colt switched to the front-drive Mitsubishi Mirage, and from then on it was a different car, listed in the catalog as Colt. The older Galant Sigma-based wagon stayed on sale alongside the Mirage-based car until 1981, which is why this entry runs to 1981. These cars were captive imports, built by Mitsubishi and sold through Dodge dealers as economical subcompacts.
