Dodge introduced the Dynasty in 1987 as a 1988 model, a front-drive mid-size sedan that took over from the Dodge 600. The base engine was a 2.5-liter four rated at 100 hp, with a Mitsubishi-built 3.0-liter V6 at 141 hp as the step up. A 3.3-liter V6 rated at 147 hp followed for 1990, according to Consumer Guide. The Dynasty stayed on sale through the 1993 model year, the same year the Intrepid arrived, and its 1988-1993 run was a single generation.
The Dodge Dynasty was a front-wheel-drive mid-size sedan from 1988 to 1993 built on the Chrysler C platform. It had upright, conservative styling and a roomy interior for traditional family buyers. Available V6 power made it a comfortable highway cruiser.
