The Intrepid arrived for 1993 as a front-drive sedan on Chrysler's LH platform, and it introduced Chrysler's cab-forward styling. A second generation with a more dramatic version of that look followed for 1998. From 2003 the SXT, with a 250-hp version of the 3.5-liter overhead-cam V6, effectively took over from the R/T as the most powerful Intrepid, according to Consumer Guide. The nameplate left the lineup after the 2004 model year, and Dodge's rear-drive Magnum wagon and Charger sedan took over.
The Dodge Intrepid was a full-size front-wheel-drive sedan from 1993 to 2004 built on the cab-forward LH platform. Its long wheelbase and sweeping shape gave it a roomy interior and a distinctive look. The sporty R/T versions added a high-output V6.
