STORY
The Monaco arrived for 1965 as a luxury Dodge built on the new C-body platform that the Polara shared. The 383 cubic inch V8 was the smallest engine offered, and the optional 426 cubic inch wedge was rated at 365 hp, a figure from the gross-horsepower era. For 1977 the name moved to the mid-size B-body and replaced the Coronet, while the full-size car continued as the Royal Monaco. The mid-size Monaco was replaced for 1979 by the St. Regis.
