STORY

The Nitro was a compact SUV that Dodge sold for the 2007 to 2012 model years, built at the Toledo North Assembly Plant in Ohio alongside the Jeep Liberty. On August 31, 2011, Dodge announced it was extending 2011 production through December to meet stronger demand; Nitro sales were up 24 percent in the first seven months of that year over the same period of 2010. The 2011 R/T carried a 4.0-liter V6 rated at 260 hp and 265 lb-ft, with up to 5,000 pounds of towing. The Nitro was retired in December 2011.
