The Dodge Shadow was launched in 1986 as a 1987 model, a compact hatchback meant to replace the Omni and Horizon. It sat on Chrysler's P platform, a K-car derivative, and the 2.2-litre four made 97 hp at launch. Carroll Shelby's turbocharged CSX followed in 1987, and a convertible was offered only for the 1991 to 1993 model years. The Shadow and its Plymouth Sundance twin were replaced by the Neon after the 1994 model year.
The Dodge Shadow was a compact car sold from 1987 to 1994 on the Chrysler P platform, as a hatchback and a convertible. The turbocharged Shelby CSX version added performance. The Shadow was practical, economical transport with sporty options.
