The Stratus was Dodge's mid-size sedan on Chrysler's JA platform, introduced in early 1995 for the 1995 model year alongside the Chrysler Cirrus and replacing the Spirit. Chrysler placed it between the Neon and the larger LH sedans. Engines were a 132 hp 2.0-liter four, a 140 hp 2.4-liter four and a 164 hp 2.5-liter V6 built by Mitsubishi. A second generation arrived for the 2001 model year, the sedan was built through 2006, and the Avenger took its place for 2008.
The Dodge Stratus was a mid-size car from 1995 to 2006, offered as a sedan and, from 2001, also as a sporty coupe. The coupe was built on a Mitsubishi platform, while the sedan used Chrysler's own architecture. It competed in the crowded family-car segment, with V6 power available.
