The original customer Testa Rossa of 1957 to 1958, named for the red-crackle finish on its cam covers. Scaglietti clothed it in the distinctive pontoon-fender bodywork, over a 3.0-litre Colombo V12 producing about 300 hp. It anchored Ferrari's late-1950s sports-racing effort and underpinned the marque's run of Le Mans success.

STORY

The 250 Testa Rossa, named for the red-painted cam covers of its 3.0-litre V12, was a hugely successful sports racing car. Early cars wore Scaglietti's distinctive pontoon-fender bodywork. It won the World Sportscar Championship for Ferrari multiple times, including victories at Le Mans and Sebring.
