STORY

Ferrari showed the 275 GTB at the Paris show in autumn 1964, with the open 275 GTS beside it, as the replacement for the 250 series. Pininfarina designed it and Scaglietti built the body, normally steel with aluminium doors, bonnet and boot lid. The V12 displaced 3,286 cc. Midway through production the nose was lengthened to reduce front-end lift, and in 1966 a torque tube tied engine and transaxle together. The 275 GTB/4 followed at the October 1966 Paris show with a four-cam Tipo 226 V12 and dry-sump lubrication.
