400 GT

365 GT4 2+2 / 400 / 412 · 1976–1979

The 400 GT is a Ferrari coupe from the 365 GT4 2+2 / 400 / 412.2 generation, built from 1976 to 1979.

STORY

The 365 GT4 2+2 made its public debut at Paris in 1972, using the basic mechanicals of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The 400 followed in 1976, and in 1985 the 412 arrived with the quad-cam V12 enlarged to 4,943 cc and Pininfarina's shape left largely intact. Production of the whole family ended in 1989, after 17 years, and the 412 itself accounts for 576 cars. These are three evolutions of one front-engined V12 2+2, not three separate designs.
