365 GT4 2+2 / 400 / 412 · 1985–1989RWD

The 412 of 1985 closed out the 365 GT4 2+2 line that had run since 1972. Its V12 grew to 4.9 litres, and the car became the first road-going Ferrari fitted with anti-lock brakes as standard, using a Bosch system. A raised tail and higher bootline distinguished it visually, and buyers could again choose a GM automatic or a five-speed manual. Production ended in 1989.

STORY

This long-running Pininfarina four-seater began as the 365 GT4 2+2 in 1972 with a 4.4-litre V12, evolving into the 400 (with an available automatic transmission, a Ferrari first) and finally the fuel-injected 412. Its crisp, angular design remained in production for 17 years. It offered genuine four-seat grand touring with front-mounted V12 power.
