STORY

Unveiled at the 1968 Paris Salon, the 365 GTB/4 was nicknamed 'Daytona' by the press in reference to Ferrari's 1-2-3 finish at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona. Powered by a front-mounted 4.4-litre Colombo V12, it succeeded the 275 GTB/4 and countered the mid-engined Lamborghini Miura with a classic front-engine layout. Early cars used a plexiglass-covered headlight nose later replaced by pop-up units to meet US regulations, and a Spider (GTS/4) version was also offered.
