STORY

Introduced in 1976, the 512 BB evolved the 365 GT4 BB, adopting a 4.9-litre flat-12 ('Berlinetta Boxer') mounted longitudinally behind the cabin. Named for its 5-litre displacement and 12 cylinders, it gained a front chin spoiler and revised aerodynamics over its predecessor. Fuel injection arrived with the 512 BBi in 1981, and the model was succeeded by the Testarossa in 1984.
