STORY

The 550 Maranello arrived in 1996, returning Ferrari's flagship two-seat berlinetta to a front-engine layout after the mid-engined Testarossa line. It used a 5.5-litre V12 producing 485 hp and a six-speed manual, with Pininfarina styling echoing classic front-engine Ferraris. An open 550 Barchetta Pininfarina followed, and the car set several endurance speed records at the Nardò ring.
