California T

F149 · 2014–2017RWD

The 2014 update of the California, with the T signalling Ferrari's return to turbocharging. A 3.9-litre (3855cc) twin-turbo V8 producing around 552 hp replaced the earlier 4.3-litre naturally aspirated unit, adding torque while cutting emissions. It kept the front-engine 2+2 layout and folding metal hardtop.

STORY

The California debuted in 2008 as Ferrari's first model with a front-mounted V8, a folding metal hardtop and a dual-clutch gearbox. Aimed at a broader, everyday-usable market, it used a 4.3-litre V8 and offered 2+2 seating. It reintroduced the historic California name last used on the 1950s 250 GT California Spyder.
