F12tdf

F152 · 2015–2017RWD

The F12tdf, named for the Tour de France road race, was a hardcore version of the F12berlinetta built in a run of 799 cars from 2015. Its 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 rose to 780 hp, and around 110 kg was stripped out. The defining feature was a rear-wheel steering system Ferrari called Virtual Short Wheelbase, paired with wider front tyres to sharpen turn-in on a car with prodigious grip.

STORY

Ferrari released the F12berlinetta on 29 February 2012, ahead of the Geneva show that opened in March 2012, as the replacement for the 599 GTB Fiorano. Its 6.3-litre V12 was rated at 740 CV, which Autocar converts to 730 bhp, with 690 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Ferrari claimed 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, 200 km/h in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of about 340 km/h. It also quoted a Fiorano lap of 1 minute 23 seconds and a dry weight of 1,525 kg. In October 2015 Ferrari followed it with the F12tdf, limited to 799 cars.
