250 GTO (Series I)

250 GTO · 1962–1963RWD

The 250 GTO was Ferrari's front-engined GT racer of 1962, its name signalling the homologation intent behind it. A 3.0-litre Colombo V12 with six twin-choke Webers drove through a five-speed gearbox in a lightweight aluminium body shaped by wind-tunnel testing. Just 36 were built, and the car took the FIA's international GT title in 1962, 1963 and 1964. It is now among the most valued cars ever made.
