Mondial 8

Mondial · 1980–1989RWD

The Mondial 8 opened the Mondial line in 1980 as successor to the 308 GT4, wrapping a Pininfarina 2+2 body around a mid-mounted 2.9-litre (2926cc) transverse V8 fed by Bosch K-Jetronic injection, good for roughly 214 hp. A stretched wheelbase made room for the occasional rear seats. It preceded the four-valve Quattrovalvole that arrived in 1982.

STORY

The Mondial was Ferrari's mid-engined 2+2 built from 1980 to 1993, designed to offer usable rear seats in a V8 Ferrari. It evolved through several versions with growing displacement, from the early Mondial 8 and QV to the later 3.4-litre Mondial t. Both coupe and cabriolet body styles were offered.
