STORY

The Fiat 124 was a compact family saloon launched in 1966. It won the 1967 European Car of the Year award for its roomy interior, disc brakes on all four wheels, and light, efficient design. It was built in Italy until 1974 and became one of the most widely licensed cars in history. The Soviet VAZ/Lada, SEAT, Premier Padmini and others were based on it. Its pushrod engines, and later Lampredi twin-cam engines, were also used in the sporting 124 Coupé and Spider.
