STORY

Fiat launched the 125 in 1967 as a larger saloon built around a 1,608 cc twin-cam four of about 90 PS, an engine developed from the one in the 124 Sport. The 125S of 1968 raised output to about 100 PS. Italy built 603,877 cars before Italian production ended in 1972, when the 132 took over and the line moved to Argentina, where the model ran on into the early 1980s. That figure excludes licence-built cars such as Poland's Polski Fiat 125p, which is a separate car.
