STORY

Fiat brought out the 1300 and 1500 saloons in 1961, and the FIA homologation record for the 1,481 cc 1500 is dated 16 May 1961. The 1300 replaced the 1200 and was quoted at 60 hp, while the 1500 was quoted at 73 hp. The hp figures do not state a rating standard, and a catalogue lists 67 PS DIN for a 1962 1500, so the two are not directly comparable. The 1300 had a 1,295 cc four and the 1500 a 1,481 cc four. The 1300 was replaced by the 124 in 1966 and the 1500 by the larger twin-cam 125 in 1967; Zastava built the 1300 until December 1979 and SEAT built the 1500 until 1975.
