The Fiat 600 first appeared in 1955 as a rear-engined, water-cooled small car and provided the basis for the six-seat Multipla, one of the earliest people-carriers. Millions were built and licence-produced across Europe, and its Abarth-tuned derivatives found sporting success. In 2023 Fiat revived the 600 name for a small electric and mild-hybrid crossover, positioned just above the 500 and sharing its platform with the Jeep Avenger.
