STORY

Fiat introduced the Argenta in 1981 as a restyled Fiat 132, which had been launched in 1972. The car kept the 132 body and mechanicals but gained rectangular headlamps and new plastic bumpers. Launch engines included a fuel-injected 2.0 with 122 PS. A 1983 update brought Fiat's new five-bar logo and a 2.5 turbodiesel with 90 PS, and in 1984 a supercharged 2.0 with 135 PS joined as the VX, sold in Italy as the SX. Production ended in 1985, when the Croma took its place.
