Idea 1.3 MultiJet

STORY

Fiat showed the Idea as a study at the Geneva show in spring 2003 and put the production minivan on sale in early 2004, on the second-generation Punto platform; the Lancia Musa followed in 2004. Europe's launch engines were 1.2 and 1.4 petrol and 1.3 and 1.9 Multijet diesels. Brazil got a different car. Fiat do Brasil presented its Betim-built Idea on 30 August 2005, with sales from September, after spending about US$200 million on the plant. It used a locally developed architecture sharing about 20 percent of its parts with the Palio and a Palio-style dashboard, with flex-fuel engines: a 1.4 Fire of 80 or 81 hp and a GM-built 1.8 of 112 or 114 hp, depending on fuel.
