STORY

Fiat built the Linea on the Grande Punto platform as a 4.56 m sedan with a 500-litre boot, after two years of development and about 170 million euros, with Turkey as the launch market in 2007 and production by Tofaş at Bursa. European sales were due to open in June 2007 with a 77 bhp 1.4 petrol and a 90 bhp 1.3 Multijet, and a 120 bhp 1.4 T-Jet due later. Brazil received its own Linea in September 2008, built at Betim, with a 1.9 16V flex engine of 130 cv on gasoline and 132 cv on ethanol in the Absolute (127 cv in the LX) and a 152 cv 1.4 T-Jet, a different tune from the European 120 bhp unit.
