Multipla 1.9 JTD

STORY

The Multipla of 1998 was Fiat's second car of that name, after the six-seat 600 Multipla of 1956, and a different design. The production version was shown at the Frankfurt show in autumn 1997 and reached the market in 1998. Its body seated six in two rows of three abreast, with separate seats that could be rearranged. Power came from a 1.6 petrol engine, a CNG version of it, and a 1.9 diesel, all driving the front wheels. Early sales were slow outside Italy because of the styling, and a facelift in 2004 changed the front end. Top Gear named it its car of the year for 2000. Production ended in 2010.
