STORY

The Palio is the Brazilian Fiat that replaced the Uno there. The first generation was presented in April 1996, the year Fiat marked 20 years in Brazil, and was developed with the IDEA Institute and the Fiat Style Centre in Turin. It was restyled in 2000, 2003 and 2007, and a sporty 1.8 R version, rated at 115 cv on ethanol, joined in 2005. The second generation, a complete redesign, came in 2011 with flex-fuel 1.0 and 1.4 Fire Evo engines and a 1.6 E.torQ. Fiat stopped building the Palio hatchback in Brazil in February 2018 and the Palio Weekend estate lasted until January 2020; the Argentine line had already stopped in late 2017.
