STORY

The Panda, introduced in 1980, was a no-frills city car designed by Giugiaro. It was conceived as a modern, versatile working vehicle and was described as a "tin can" of ruthless practicality. Later generations became more refined: the second (launched 2003) won European Car of the Year for 2004 and the third arrived in 2012, while a rugged 4x4 version became a cult favourite. It has remained one of Fiat's core European best-sellers for more than four decades.
