STORY

The Topolino (formally the Fiat 500 "A"), launched in 1936 and designed by Dante Giacosa, was one of the smallest mass-produced cars of its era and put pre-war Italy on wheels. Its tiny front-mounted water-cooled four-cylinder engine and compact body made it affordable and long-lived, and it developed through the B and C series until 1955. Its nickname ("little mouse") became well known. Fiat later revived the Topolino name for a modern electric quadricycle.
