STORY

The first Edge was shown at the January 2006 Detroit show and built at Oakville, Ontario, as a 2007 model on the CD3 platform. Europe got its own Edge only later: Ford revealed the European version at the Frankfurt show in September 2015 as the first of five new SUVs for the region, and Dutch orders opened on 10 February 2016 with 2.0-litre TDCi diesels of 180 PS and 210 PS, both with all-wheel drive. North American production ended at Oakville in late April 2024. The name lives on in China, where the three-row Edge L, built by Changan Ford, was unveiled on 23 February 2023 to replace the Edge Plus.
